11th May Update ~ Finalisations

-

Hey guys!

This week has been really busy. And since GM:Studio is currently very buggy, progression on NIKRA has been slow. I have, though, been finalising the colours and designs for NIKRA and it's contents.
All items are being redrawn, and the character basis is (pretty much) finished.

PREVIOUS CHARACTER CONCEPT

This drawing above was a conceptual page I did long ago. As you can see, the character in the middle is the same as the one on the Preview at the top. Believe it or not, I actually designed this particular guy to look like me. But don't worry, you're not going to be playing me in NIKRA. You'll be able to fully customise your character, and I just used me as an example :)

My visions of the new NIKRA:
  • SPEED - All but one parallax backgrounds will be removed, reducing lag. This will also focus the player's view on the actual player. Most code, like the (messy) inventory, will be cleaned and polished to a state of perfection for speed and stability.
  • DESIGN - Everything will be redrawn to fit the new style I envisioned months ago.
  • GAMEPLAY - All animations will be sped up, as well as timers for various things.
  • ADVENTURE - NIKRA was originally about a child in a vast Galaxy. But times have changed, and I have realised that something that big would frankly be illogical to complete. Places will be cropped, condensed, and concise. But still large enough for tonnes of adventure, entertainment, and freelancing.
  • STORY - NIKRA was and always will be a story game. So throughout your adventure, you'll find notes, drawings, and messages about the secrets of the galaxy.

I have also been doing some renders! Check 'em out below, and click them to view or download!
They all work well as wallpapers!
